This is considered a Labour seat at risk from Remain The LibDems are targeting this seat because of the strong support for Remain here. Labour won won this seat at the last election with a majority of 12972 over the LD candidate. However, 15245 voted for Brexit in the 2016 referendum here. That represents 26% of the voters in this constituency. The Labour Party can hold onto this seat so long as people who are committed to a second referendum on Brexit and a government that will address climate, inequality and nuclear weapons decide to vote Labour. A vote to survive in this constituency is a vote for Labour!
